"Grenade" Sheet Music - Bruno Mars

"Grenade" is a song by American singer-songwriter and producer Bruno Mars from his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010). It's a Pop, R&B ballad produced by Mars himself along with his production team, The Smeezingtons and written by the latter with Brody Brown, Claude Kelly, and Andrew Wyatt.
The song was developed from an unreleased track with similar lyrical themes played by record producer Benny Blanco to Mars. "Grenade" was completely rearranged and re‑recorded two days before the album was supposed to be handed in. The song's lyrics carry a message of unrequited love and how Mars' heart got broken, despite his best efforts. Initially released as a promotional single on September 28, 2010, it was later announced to be the album's second single from the album released by Atlantic and Elektra.
"Grenade" was well received by most critics, with reviewers praising the vocals and emotional lyrics of the heartbreak song, while its melody was lauded, being called "haunting piano" and "creamy". Some critics considered the song one of the stand-out tracks on Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The single reached the top spot number one in fifteen different countries, including the United States, where it became Mars' third number one single on the Billboard Hot 100, spending three non-consecutive weeks and topped the Canadian Hot 100, also for three non-consecutive weeks. "Grenade" was certified quintuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and six times by Music Canada (MC). Worldwide, it was the second best selling digital single of 2011 with sales of 10.2 million copies. So far, it has sold over 10.8 million copies worldwide becoming one of the best selling digital singles of all time.
Some of the song's promotion was due to the release of the music video, shot by director Nabil Elderkin, through MTV and MTV.com, on November 19, 2010. In the music video Mars is seen dragging an upright piano through Los Angeles. When arriving at the home of his beloved, he discovers she is with another man, so he decides to leave and ends up by killing himself. Mars performed "Grenade" on The Doo-Wops & Hooligans Tour (2010–12) and The Moonshine Jungle Tour (2013–14). The song was covered by several artists. It was nominated for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.

Lyrically, the girl contemplates her first time and how "it wasn't right". She realizes through that experience that her "prince" is still "out there" waiting for her. It was written when Perry first started dating her then-husband, Russell Brand.
"Not Like the Movies" received positive reviews from music critics, some of whom called it a powerful and lovely song, as well a contemplative ballad, but noticed that the song's lyrics make only minimal reference to Perry then-husband, Russell Brand. "Not Like the Movies" achieved moderate success, peaking at number 53 on US Billboard Hot 100 chart and at number 41 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart.
